Dr. Nichollette Rider

Dr. Nichollette Rider Graduated from Iowa State University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to the Quad Cities where she practiced for 3 years in private practice with Drs. Bordner and Turner but then decided to pursue her passion for shelter medicine. She was then hired on at Quad City Animal Welfare Center as the shelter veterinarian. She remained there for three years overseeing the surgical and medical care for the shelter animals and animal companions of the public at the wellness clinics and the spay & neuter clinic. After serving in both a high-end private clinical setting and in shelter medicine, she decided to marry her two passions to try and serve the public with a lower cost surgery, medical and dental practice.
She has a special interest in pain management, feline internal medicine, and enjoys soft tissue surgery. She also really enjoys cytology and can frequently be found at the microscope oohing and aahing.

She spends her time away from the clinic with her husband and daughter and their menagerie of animals (dogs, cats, rabbits, pigeon…yes, pigeon). She loves spending time outside with her chickens and goats and enjoys gardening, reading, and cooking and is a bit of a foodie.

Marisa Talbot

Marisa graduated from Muscatine Community College with her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. Although she has been an animal lover her entire life her passion for veterinary medicine escalated once she worked in the field. Marisa has most of her experience in shelter medicine.

Outside of work she enjoys a good scary movie and spending time with her family. Marisa’s always interested in learning and seeing new things. Baking or laughing at puns would be her next choice of jobs if she wasn’t here with us.

Marisa is fond of surgical nursing, genetics, and wishes she could indulge more in large animal. Her roots are grounded here in the Quad City area where she lives with her daughter and canine fur babies.

Leah Michel

Leah, a Quad Cities native, is one of our Veterinary Technicians at Faithful Friends. She graduated in 2016 from Kirkwood Community College with her AAS in Veterinary Technology, having previously attended Wartburg College.

She has a strong background in emergency and critical care, and has professional interests in canine and feline nutrition, exotics, theriogenology, pain management, and surgical nursing, and is a proud member of the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America.

In her spare time, Leah enjoys crafting, home improvements, and animal fostering. She currently has multiple four-legged roommates, including Gigi the bullmastiff, Matcha and Mila the Siamese mixes, and Peaches and Sophie the guinea pigs.

Liz Dubin

Liz, our Practice Manager at Faithful Friends, has finally decided what she wants to do when she grows up! She has her BB in Marketing and BS in Fashion Merchandising from Western Illinois University. After graduation, she pursued her two degrees doing the marketing for our two area malls owned by Simon Property Group. While employed there, she also pursued her MBA at Ashford University.

After five years at the malls, Liz realized her true passion was in Veterinary Medicine. She went back to school for her AS in Veterinary Technology at Muscatine Community College where she was awarded Veterinary Technician Student of the Year in 2012.

She started her career as a Veterinary Technician at another local clinic and was promoted to the Practice Manager position after a year. She jumped at the chance to help Dr. Rider in opening Faithful Friends and is excited to be at a clinic that marries the idea of great veterinary medicine at a fair price.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working on her home, and hanging out with her pups and kitties. She’s excited to work hard, continue to make Faithful Friends successful and grow along with the business and her fellow employees.

Dash Dubin

Dash is the hardest working employee at Faithful Friends Animal Hospital. He can often be found staying busy sleeping in his bed behind the front counter or begging for a treat at reception desk, causing his mom to have to put him on a diet!

In his free time, he enjoys chasing squirrels and rabbits, going for car rides, and snuggling with his mom and fur brothers and sister.
